During your first year the course will provide you with a broad coverage in biomedical sciences. You will be introduced to key systems and pathways in the human body and relate these to diseases. Your second year will expand on the knowledge established in your first year with a focus on scientific research techniques, including modules providing knowledge of drug usage and their mechanisms of action.
In your final year, specialised modules will present you with current content in, and future directions of, medical and health sciences. You will also have the opportunity to undertake optional modules offered by other schools, and will complete an independent research project. This will develop your laboratory, data handling and critical thinking skills, and provides an opportunity to possibly contribute to the pool of medical knowledge.
