Foreign students flock to Sabah

Sabah is becoming the choice destination for foreign students due to its safety and natural attractions. Chinese students constitute the highest number of foreign undergraduates in Sabah. Students from China are choosing to study in Sabah due to good quality education, safety and natural attractions. The highest number of foreign undergraduates consists of Chinese students, according to deputy vice-chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (Academic and International), Professor Dr. Shariff Abd Kadir S. Omang Haj.
Dr. Shariff who was present at the UMS Link Centre for Professional Development (UCPD) graduation said it was due to safety in Sabah. “The tourism attractions in Sabah is also one reason why parents from China like to send their children here as they get to visit the state at the same time,” he said.
166 students from China, Korea and Turkey graduates from the UCPD International Students Foundation Programme (ISPF) and 23 from its Executive Diploma Programme (EDP) graduated in the ceremony.
