In light with the recent ban of foreigners from working in fast-food chains, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi clarified that the ban does not affect foreign students. He said that foreign students will be allowed to continue working part-time at fast food restaurants without the need for a special permit or pass.
Foreign students only have to inform the Labour Department on details of their employment.
"The Ministry is being considerate towards foreign students who work part-time in fast-food outlets. While no permits are required, they must supply details of their employment to the Labour Department," he said.
