KYS, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, has embarked on an Adventure Tourism business as part of its strategy.  The KYS Aventura Program is a special program to develop entrepreneurs to establish Adventure Tourism ventures.  

With the ongoing concerns over the safety and risk aspect of the adventure tourism industry in Malaysia, we envisage developing Adventure Tourism Professionals currently lacking in terms of numbers and also skills.

The adventure tourism management program is delivered together with our partner, the renowned Queenstown Resort College (QRC), from Queenstown ‘the Adventure Capital of the World’ in New Zealand.

ADVENTURE TOURISM DEFINITION

Involving 2 of the 3 elements:

1. Connection with nature
2. Interaction with culture
3. A physical activity

We focus on harnessing the participants with professional skills which are highly in demand by the adventure tourism industry. On course completion, students will have the skills, knowledge and attitude required to work in a team leadership role, with the potential to advance through to a management role. They will also have the knowledge to establish their own business ventures. At KYSB, we deliver two separate short courses that students can enrol in.
